The Development Initiative Ltd have recently been awarded two new contracts to add to our existing portfolio.
The first will see us delivering Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM) Training and support throughout the Central African Republic, and will be integrated into our existing project infrastructure in country. TDI will provide complete training packages dedicated to Weapon and Ammunition Management. A Mobile Training Team will deliver specific theory and practical instructions to Interior Security Force personnel and this will be delivered in French, a primary language in CAR.
The current armed conflict in the Central African Republic and previous years of crisis have had a devastating effect on the development of the country and on the livelihood and security of the population. This contract will provide a critical support element to restoration efforts.
The second contract, recently signed, is to provide Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) Teams to three locations in Mali to be used as a risk mitigating measure. Twenty eight dogs and their handlers will be deployed to Gao, Kidal and Timbuktu to inspect and clear vehicles, luggage and cargo for explosives and firearms at restricted entry control points and airports, as well as facilities and other areas.
TDI are delighted to have been awarded these two contracts and look forward to successfully mobilising and contributing to clearing the way for safety and development in these countries.
